Assistant Community Missioner – 15 hours per week
Are you organised, people-focused, and passionate about making a difference in the wider community? Transforming Lives Together (TLT) is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Community Missioner, to help churches, communities and organisations across the Diocese of Chester work together to tackle poverty, loneliness and poor mental health, so that people may experience life in all its fullness.
Working alongside our Community Missioner, you’ll be at the heart of connecting people and ideas. One day you might be helping to organise a community gathering or workshop; the next, supporting local projects, keeping our communications and records up to date, or gathering stories that show the difference our work is making.
We’re looking for someone who is a confident organiser, great communicator and relationship-builder, able to work independently while enjoying being part of a team. You’ll need good administrative and digital skills, an eye for detail and a willingness to get stuck in. Experience of community projects, charities or churches would be helpful, but enthusiasm, initiative and a heart for social justice are just as important.
This is a 15-hour-per-week role (typically over two days), initially for one year, with the potential for additional hours as the role develops. The salary is £10,500 (£26,200 FTE) with a 5% employer pension contribution.
This role has an Occupational Requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian whose faith informs their understanding of social justice.
